Rdesno Lisan je nepostradatelnou trvalkou pro každého, kdo chce mít rozkvetlou zahradu i v druhé polovině léta a na podzim. Tento druh rdesna má svůj původ v horských oblastech Himalájí, kde přirozeně osídluje vlhčí louky a lesní okraje. Díky tomu je rostlina i v zahradě velmi odolná a vitální, miluje výživné, humózní půdy, které si drží vláhu, a prosperuje na slunci i v polostínu. Ve výsadbách je ceněná pro svou schopnost rychle zapojit porost a potlačit plevel, přičemž netrpí na choroby ani škůdce. Její husté trsy svěže zelených listů tvoří perfektní podrost pod vyšší keře nebo stromy a vnáší do záhonů dynamiku i ve chvílích, kdy ostatní letní trvalky již odkvétají. Kultivar Lisan vyniká svými nápadnými, karmínově červenými květenstvími ve tvaru úzkých klasů, které se tyčí nad listy od července až do prvních mrazíků v říjnu. Oproti některým jiným rdesnům dorůstá kompaktnější výšky mezi 50 a 75 centimetry a nevyžaduje oporu, protože jeho stonky jsou pevné a vzpřímené. Tyto svíčkovité květy působí v trvalkových výsadbách velmi efektně a jsou doslova magnetem pro včely a další opylovače. Rdesno Lisan je také vynikající k řezu do vázy, kde jeho sytá barva a zajímavá struktura vydrží dělat radost několik dní a skvěle doplní podzimní aranžmá.

Pěstování Rdesna Lisan (Persicaria amplexicaulis) je velmi vděčnou záležitostí i pro úplné začátečníky, protože tato trvalka je robustní a nenáročná. Základem úspěchu je výběr správného stanoviště. Této rostlině se nejlépe daří na slunném stanovišti nebo v polostínu. I když snese i stinnější kouty, na slunci pokvete nejbohatěji, pokud bude mít dostatek vláhy. Půda by měla být ideálně hlinitá, bohatá na živiny a humózní. Zásadní je, aby byla dostatečně vlhká a nevysychavá, rdesno totiž špatně snáší sucho. Pokud máte na zahradě písčitou nebo kamenitou půdu, je nutné ji před výsadbou vylepšit zapracováním kompostu nebo jiného organického materiálu, který pomůže zadržet vodu.
Jelikož obdržíte již vzrostlou sazenici, můžete ji vysazovat prakticky kdykoliv během vegetační sezóny, dokud nemrzne. Při výsadbě dbejte na správný spon, ideálně 3 až 5 rostlin na metr čtvereční (vzdálenost cca 40–50 cm). Rdesno Lisan roste poměrně rychle a vytváří husté trsy, které efektivně potlačují plevel, takže se brzy dočkáte zapojeného porostu. Po výsadbě rostlinu důkladně zalijte a v prvních týdnech hlídejte, aby kořenový bal nepřeschl.
Co se týče další péče, tento kultivar je poměrně bezúdržbový. Vyniká tím, že netrpí na žádné specifické choroby ani škůdce, takže nemusíte řešit chemickou ochranu. Protože dorůstá kompaktní výšky 50–75 cm a má pevné stonky, nevyžaduje žádnou oporu a nekácí se ani při dešti. Hnojení není nezbytně nutné, pokud je půda výživná, ale na jaře můžete k trsům přihodit trochu kompostu, abyste podpořili bujný růst listů a násadu karmínových květů. Pokud by nastalo dlouhé období sucha, nezapomeňte rostliny vydatně zalít.
Rdesno Lisan je plně mrazuvzdorné (až do -28 °C), takže u nás přezimuje bez problémů a nevyžaduje zimní přikrývku. Na podzim, kdy rostlina s prvními mrazy zhnědne a zatáhne, doporučujeme suché stonky a listy na záhoně ponechat. Zpětný řez provádějte až brzy na jaře, kdy odstraníte veškerou odumřelou hmotu těsně nad zemí, čímž uvolníte místo pro nové, svěže zelené výhony. Pokud zvažujete pěstování v nádobách či truhlících, je to možné díky kompaktnímu růstu tohoto kultivaru. Nádoba však musí být dostatečně velká a hluboká. Klíčové je pak pravidelné a časté zalévání, protože zemina v květináči vysychá mnohem rychleji než ve volné půdě.

This species of sage originally comes from the steppe regions of Central and Eastern Europe. It forms profusely flowering small clumps with straight upright stems. In flower beds, it looks best in groups. Traditionally, due to the identical flowering time, it is planted as a companion to roses. However, it will look just as good in mixed drought-loving steppe plantings with grasses. It lasts 7 days in a vase. The cultivar Caradonna stands out with a long flowering period and dark, almost black-purple stems with tiny purple flowers and dark purple bracts. If we cut it back after flowering, it will bloom again in late August and September.
