Fight against slugs by hand-picking them regularly in the evening hours, using various traps, or scattering eco-friendly baits and granules based on iron phosphate around the plants, which are safe for beneficial insects and pets.

Dividing tubers is the simplest method of propagation. It should be done in the spring, just before planting. Carefully divide older, large clumps using a sharp knife. It is absolutely essential that each separated piece has a so-called crown with an eye (bud) from which the plant will sprout. The “potato” part of the tuber alone will not sprout without a crown! Treat the cut surfaces with charcoal dust to prevent rot and allow them to dry.

Yes, propagation by cuttings is another effective method. From February to March, lightly bury the tubers in substrate and place them in a bright room with a temperature above 20 °C. Water sparingly.
