The original species naturally occurs in moister meadows and forest margins, so it will welcome humus-rich and well-drained soil in the garden that does not completely dry out. It is an exceptionally resilient perennial that handles even severe frosts without problems, and even a complete beginner can manage its care. From late spring, stems carrying clusters of sky-blue flowers appear above the clump of decorative leaves. These act as a lure for beneficial insects and perfectly complement colorful perennial plantings. If you have a spot in the garden that is not explicitly dry, Jacob's ladder will reward you with vital growth and abundant blooming. Its leaves are divided and arranged so regularly that they resemble the rungs of a ladder. This is where its common name, Jacob's ladder, comes from. During June and July, stems with pure white flowers adorned with delicate yellow stamens tower above the clumps of leaves. The White Pearl variety grows to a height of around 80 centimeters and looks very airy in perennial beds. It is perfectly suited for partially shaded areas but will also tolerate sun if provided with regular watering. The flowers are a magnet for bees and other beneficial insects. Floristically, Jacob's ladder is valuable for its longevity and decorative appearance. S pěstováním jirnice Filigree Skies nebudete mít mnoho práce, protože ji dodáváme jako silnou sazenici připravenou k okamžité výsadbě. Této trvalce se nejlépe daří na místech, která připomínají její domovinu – tedy vlhčí louky a lemy lesů. Vyhovuje jí chladnější místo s vlhkým vzduchem, ideálně v polostínu. Pokud ji vysadíte na plné slunce, musíte dbát na opravdu pravidelnou zálivku. Při výsadbě dbejte na to, aby zemina byla kyprá a výživná; do těžké jílovité půdy přimíchejte kompost nebo listovku pro odlehčení. Rostliny sázejte do sponu cca 40 cm, aby vynikla struktura jejich jemně stříhaných listů, které zůstávají ozdobné po celou sezónu.
Během vegetace je nejdůležitější pravidelná a dostatečná vláha, v období sucha nenechte záhon vyschnout. Přihnojování není nezbytně nutné, pokud je půda humózní, ale jarní dávka kompostu jí prospěje. Co se týče údržby, po prvním odkvětu (červenec) velmi doporučujeme sestřihnout stonky nízko u země. Tento zpětný řez podpoří růst nových listů, zabrání vysemenění a rostlina často na podzim, kolem září, vykvete znovu. Květy lákají včely a další užitečný hmyz, čímž přirozeně oživí vaši zahradu.
Jirnice je extrémně odolná trvalka, která bez problémů přečká i nejtužší zimy (zóna 3a), takže ji na zimu nemusíte nijak chránit. Pokud se rozhodnete pro pěstování v nádobách, zvolte dostatečně velký květináč s otvorem pro odtok vody a použijte kvalitní substrát pro trvalky, který dobře drží vláhu. V nádobě je rostlina náchylnější na přesušení a přehřátí kořenů, proto ji na terase či balkoně umístěte spíše do stínu nebo polostínu a denně kontrolujte vlhkost substrátu.

This species of sage originates from the steppe regions of Central and Eastern Europe. It forms abundantly flowering small clumps with straight upright stems. In beds, it looks best in groups. Traditionally, it is planted as a companion to roses due to the matching flowering time. However, it will look equally good in mixed drought-loving steppe plantings with grasses. It is an excellent food source for bees. It lasts 7 days in a vase. Schneehügel blooms white.
