Aby plnokvětý tulipán Crispion Sweet ukázal svou krásu naplno a vytvořil úžasný pocukrovaný efekt, potřebuje v první řadě správně zvolené stanoviště. Nejlépe se mu daří na plném slunci nebo ve světlém polostínu, kde má k dispozici dokonale propustnou, hlinitopísčitou půdu s dostatkem humusu. Pokud vám cibule dorazí domů dříve, než je stihnete zasadit ven, uložte je na chladné, suché a temné místo, abyste udrželi jejich prvotřídní kvalitu. Samotná výsadba pak probíhá výhradně na podzim, a to ideálně v rozmezí od září do listopadu. Zákazníkům dodáváme ty největší cibule o velikosti 12/+, které spolehlivě kvetou. Do vyhloubených jamek je vkládejte vždy špičkou vzhůru, do hloubky zhruba 10 až 15 centimetrů. Stejnou vzdálenost, tedy 10 až 15 centimetrů, pečlivě udržujte i mezi jednotlivými rostlinami, aby měly dostatek prostoru. Na jeden metr čtvereční jich tak pohodlně vysadíte přibližně 45 až 80 kusů.
Na jaře, jakmile se objeví první výhony, vyžadují tulipány střední zálivku. Půda by neměla v tomto aktivním období úplně vyschnout, ale na druhou stranu stát trvale ve vodě cibulím vyloženě škodí a způsobuje jejich uhnívání. Jelikož jde o kompaktní odrůdu, která je velmi nenáročná a nepotřebuje k růstu žádnou oporu ani jakékoliv zaštipování, zvládnou komplexní péči o ni i úplní začátečníci. Stonky dorůstající výšky 30 až 45 centimetrů jsou pevné a skvěle se hodí k řezu do jarních kytic. Pokud se rozhodnete květy nechat zářit přímo na záhonu, nezapomeňte po jejich odkvětu v průběhu května včas odstranit vyvíjející se semeníky. Zbylé olistění však naopak ponechte zcela nedotčené, a to až do chvíle, dokud samo nezažloutne a neuschne. Zelené listy totiž po odkvětu fungují jako takové solární panely, které posílají energii zpět do cibule pro bohaté kvetení v dalším roce.
S přezimováním na záhonu si rozhodně nemusíte dělat těžkou hlavu, protože tato cibulovina spadá do klimatické zóny 3a a snese tak extrémní mrazy sahající až k -40 °C. Jedná se však o krátkověkou trvalku. Pro dlouhodobé udržení vitality proto výrazně pomáhá, když zatažené cibule po odumření listů vykopete, přes horké léto je uskladníte v suchu a na podzim je do prokypřené půdy znovu vysadíte. Zabráníte tím i možným a častým problémům s nadměrnou půdní vlhkostí. Právě trvalé mokro je hlavní příčinou vážných chorob, jako je fusariová hniloba nebo šedá hniloba (Botrytis cinerea), na které si musíte dávat při pěstování největší pozor. Výjimečně se můžete setkat i s virem mozaiky. Z toho důvodu je velmi důležité udržovat záhony čisté a používat vydezinfikované zahradnické nůžky při jakémkoliv řezu nádherných květů do vašich váz.
