Planting takes place exclusively in the autumn, i.e., in the months of September, October, and November. Plant the bulbs at a depth of 10 to 15 centimeters and maintain an optimal spacing of 10 to 15 centimeters. This precise spacing reliably ensures that each plant will have enough space and nutrients to form sturdy stems up to 45 centimeters high, which easily do without any additional support.
During the intensive spring growth and the actual flowering in April to May, keep the flowerbed moderately moist. Always carefully adapt watering to the current spring weather; the plant will appreciate a regular and moderate supply of water rather than occasional extreme waterlogging. The 'San Luiz' variety is absolutely excellent for cutting, so you can easily bring its elegant flowers into your home interior. As soon as your tulips finish flowering at the end of spring, it is absolutely crucial to let the whole plant rest naturally and gather strength.
