Pro úspěšné pěstování česneku kulatohlavého vyberte na své zahradě stanoviště plné slunce, protože dostatek světla zaručí kompaktní růst. Nejlépe se mu daří v sušší, dobře propustné písčitohlinité půdě, kde nehrozí zahnívání. Protože rostlina nevyžaduje mnoho vláhy, je ideálním kandidátem do stepních záhonů nebo suchomilných kompozic. Česneky dobře porostou v kombinaci s polštářovitými suchomilnými trvalkami, které svými květy a listy přirozeně zakryjí jejich postupně žloutnoucí listy. Ty totiž během nakvétání začínají přirozeně zatahovat a zasychat, což je u letních česneků běžný jev, ze kterého nemusíte mít obavy.
Samotná výsadba cibulí probíhá tradičně na podzim. Ideální období trvá od září až do listopadu, zkrátka dokud půda trvale nepromrzne. Pokud zakoupené cibule neplánujete sázet ihned po obdržení, uskladněte je prozatím na suchém, temném a chladnějším místě, aby nezačaly předčasně rašit. Do připraveného záhonu je následně sázejte do hloubky 8 až 10 centimetrů, ideálně špičkou nahoru. Aby na záhonu naplno vynikl jejich netradiční kulovitý vzhled, jednoznačně doporučujeme spíše hustější výsadbu. Optimální je udržovat spon zhruba 10 centimetrů mezi jednotlivými cibulemi, což odpovídá přibližně 50 až 100 zasazeným cibulím na jeden metr čtvereční.
Během vegetační sezóny je tato rostlina naprosto nenáročná a nevyžaduje téměř žádnou pozornost. Pevné a dlouhé stonky, které běžně dorůstají do výšky 70 až 100 centimetrů, jsou dostatečně silné, takže nepotřebují žádnou dodatečnou oporu a nehrozí jejich polámání větrem. Rostlinu není nutné během růstu nijak zaštipovat ani složitě tvarovat. Zálivku vyžaduje opravdu jen minimální, k dobrému prospívání jí obvykle plně postačí běžná přirozená vlhkost z dešťových srážek. Velkou výhodou pěstování je fakt, že tento okrasný druh netrpí na běžné choroby a vyhýbají se mu i zahradní škůdci.
S blížící se zimou si jako pěstitelé nemusíte dělat žádné starosti se složitým zazimováním. Tento okrasný česnek je mrazuvzdorný a bez problémů snáší poklesy teplot až do -30 °C. Zasazené cibule tedy bezpečně zůstávají v zemi na stejném místě i přes zimu a na jaře opět spolehlivě vyraší. Během léta voňavé květy fungují jako magnet a neustále lákají užitečné opylovače, zejména včely a motýly. Po úplném odkvětu si můžete květenství jednoduše usušit do suchých dekorací, nebo naplno využít jejich jedlost k dozdobení čerstvých letních pokrmů.

Allium giganteum, or *Allium giganteum* in Latin, is an unmissable perennial that acts as a perfect architectural element in the flower bed. You simply need to plant the bulb in the soil in autumn. In spring, grey-green aromatic leaves sprout from it, and during May and June, huge spherical inflorescences appear on firm stems one to one and a half meters tall. These globes glow in shades of purple, pink, and lilac and naturally draw everyone's gaze. In the garden, ornamental garlic perfectly complements mixed perennial flower beds.
