V dubnu a květnu vytváří velké, bohatě strukturované květy, v nichž se prolínají krémově bílé a jemně žluté okvětní plátky. Svým vzhledem tak trochu připomínají načechranou lví hřívu, odtud také pochází jejich název. Zákazníkům posíláme vždy ty největší cibule, které zaručují silný růst a bohaté kvetení hned v první sezóně. Světlé květy navíc příjemně voní a na záhonu fungují jako brzké jarní lákadlo pro první opylovače hledající po zimě potravu. V zahradních kompozicích působí velmi přirozeně a nabízí pestré možnosti využití. Krásně vypadá ve větších skupinách na okrajích trvalkových záhonů, kde se jeho bíložluté barvy doplňují s výraznějšími jarními cibulovinami, jako jsou tmavé tulipány nebo sytě modré modřence. Pěstování narcisu Palmares zvládne s přehledem i úplný začátečník. Jakmile vám cibule dorazí domů, můžete je buď rovnou zasadit, nebo je dočasně uskladnit na chladnějším, suchém a dobře větraném místě. Výsadba probíhá na podzim, ideálně během září, října a listopadu, kdy je půda ještě dostatečně prohřátá, ale už nehrozí extrémní sucha. Vyberte pro ně slunné až polostinné stanoviště s propustnou, hlinitou a na humus bohatou půdou. Cibule sázejte špičkou nahoru do hloubky 10 až 15 centimetrů, přičemž mezi jednotlivými cibulemi ponechte rozestup také 10 až 15 centimetrů. Na jeden metr čtvereční se jich tak vejde zhruba padesát, což na jaře vytvoří nádherný souvislý porost.
Během jarních měsíců, konkrétně v dubnu a květnu, vás narcisy potěší jemnými broskvovými a lososovými květy na pevných stoncích. Rostliny dorůstají do výšky 30 až 40 centimetrů a obejdou se zcela bez opory. Květy jsou naprosto ideální k řezu do jarních váz, naopak se nehodí k sušení. Co se týče zálivky, narcisy preferují spíše mírnou vlhkost. Půda by neměla být trvale přemokřená, protože nadbytek vody může vést k rozvoji fusariové hniloby nebo šedé hniloby. Po odkvětu je důležité nechat zelené listy přirozeně zežloutnout a zaschnout. Cibule si z nich totiž stahuje živiny pro úspěšné kvetení v následujícím roce.
Tato cibulovina je dlouhověká trvalka, u které si nemusíte lámat hlavu se zazimováním. Vyniká totiž extrémní mrazuvzdorností až do -34 °C, takže cibule mohou zůstat v zemi celoročně a zimu bez problémů přečkají pod sněhem i na holomrazech. Rostliny nevyžadují žádné zaštipování ani složitý řez. Občas je pouze potřeba zkontrolovat zdravotní stav listů; pokud byste si všimli nepřirozeného žlutého mramorování, mohlo by se jednat o virovou mozaiku. V takovém případě je nejlepší napadenou rostlinu odstranit. Jinak jde ale o velmi vděčnou rostlinu, která vaši zahradu rozzáří každé jaro.
