During May and June, striking semi-spherical inflorescences composed of tiny star-shaped flowers bloom on sturdy stems reaching sixty to ninety centimeters in height. After flowering, the plant gradually goes dormant in the ground, so it is ideal to combine it with species that will subtly fill its space over the summer. Cibule okrasného česneku Red Mohican k vám dorazí v nejlepší kondici, připravené k okamžitému přesunu do záhonu, čímž vám zcela odpadá starost s výsevem ze semen. Pokud je nestihnete zasadit hned, uschovejte je na tmavém a suchém místě. Ideální doba pro jejich výsadbu začíná začátkem září a trvá až do konce prosince. Klíčem k úspěšnému pěstování je volba slunného stanoviště a správné půdy. Ta by měla být lehká, hlinitopísčitá a především dokonale propustná. Výsadba se provádí do hloubky 15 cm a cibulím dopřejte spon alespoň 20 cm, aby měly dostatek prostoru pro budoucí růst a množení. Do chladnější půdy se cibule lépe zakoření a bezpečně se připraví na zimu.
S příchodem jara rostlina vyraší a brzy zjistíte, že se o sebe postará prakticky sama. Vyniká vysokou tolerancí k suchu, proto zalévejte jen výjimečně, během extrémně suchých a horkých týdnů. Ačkoliv česnek dorůstá až k jednomu metru, jeho robustní stonky jsou velmi stabilní a oporu k růstu rozhodně nepotřebují. V průběhu června a července se objeví atraktivní tmavě červené květy. V této době, v rámci přirozeného cyklu, zelené listy začnou žloutnout a zatahovat se, aby rostlina ušetřila energii pro cibuli. Tento dočasný vizuální nedostatek snadno vyřešíte tím, že kolem česneků vysadíte jiné okrasné trvalky, které svým bohatým olistěním chytře zakryjí prázdná místa blízko u země.
Pěstování tohoto kultivaru je mimořádně radostné i díky tomu, že jej zcela míjejí běžné choroby a škůdci, čímž ušetříte spoustu času. Voňavé a jedlé hlávky můžete stříhat nejen do čerstvých letních kytic, ale také je lze jednoduše usušit hlavou dolů. Zbylé květy na záhonu rozhodně neostříhávejte hned po odkvětu. Rostlina je totiž proslulá svým zimním efektem, kdy zaschlé květenství nádherně drží tvar a zdobí zahradu. Samotné zazimování cibulí nevyžaduje žádnou péči. Jsou vysoce odolné vůči mrazům až do -23 °C, takže je s klidným svědomím ponechejte v záhonu napospas zimě, spolehlivě se v něm na jaře znovu probudí.

Tulip Palmyra
The Palmyra tulip is a stunning double-flowered cultivar that immediately catches the eye with its very dark color. Although often referred to as a black tulip, it is not truly black, but rather a very dark, rich burgundy with subtle hints of red. You will receive the largest bulbs from us, which will grow into strong stems reaching heights of around thirty to forty-five centimeters during April and May. It looks spectacular in a flower bed, especially in combination with light, delicate daffodils or smaller spring perennials, to which it adds necessary contrast and depth. Its full blooms resemble peonies and bring a touch of elegance to the spring garden. It is an absolutely undemanding plant that will delight even total beginners. Palmyra is also excellent for cutting. Cut the stems for a vase when the buds begin to show color so that they stay fresh in your home for as long as possible. The rich flowers stand out beautifully in bouquets and give them a fresh, unconventional look.
