Meadow sage occurs here primarily in warmer regions, especially in southern Moravia and northern and central Bohemia. It grows on sunny meadows and hillsides and along paths. Fragrant leaves form a basal rosette, from which several less leafy branched stems grow. The inflorescences are composed of striking bilabiate flowers, which are a great attraction for bees and bumblebees. Rose Rhapsody has light pink flowers.

Originally a plant of the steppe regions of southern Europe. The leathery leaves form a basal rosette. From these grow veil-like panicles formed by tiny flowers of a light lavender color. Perfect for bouquets; for drying, we harvest at the stage of full flower coloration.

This geranium creates dense carpets of aromatic green leaves. In mild winters, they remain effective throughout the season. It is used as a versatile and undemanding groundcover perennial. Delicate flowers on upright stems rise from the foliage. It usually blooms from May to June. Saint Ola is a newer variety similar in appearance to the older Biokovo cultivar. It is healthy, vigorous, and blooms profusely with white to pinkish flowers.

Cosmos Cherry Chocolate is a garden cultivar of the original wild species native to Mexico. Due to its striking scent, it is also called chocolate cosmos. Besides the fragrance and unusual coloring, its great advantage is the long flowering period. In our conditions, it will thrive best in a pot on the terrace; we can also sink it, pot and all, into perennial beds and remove it for winter. Cherry Chocolate has the largest flowers of all chocolate cosmos varieties – they can reach up to 7 cm in diameter.

A beautiful lower grass valuable for its early sprouting and the long endurance of leaves well into winter. The flowers are rather inconspicuous, beige, and appear in the green clumps only later in summer and autumn. The leaf color is bright green. A great combination with species such as calamint, gaura, or oregano.

The Obedient plant is a native plant of the eastern regions of North America, where it grows on river banks and wet meadows. It forms upright, bushy clumps that spread to the surroundings via root runners. The flowers have the shape of a slender spike with four rows of tubular flowers and resemble Snapdragon flowers. We harvest as soon as the first flowers in the inflorescence open; they continue to bloom in the vase. In a bouquet, they are a suitable accompaniment for Dahlias and last 10–14 days in a vase. Interesting, and usable for drying too, are the spent spikes with seeds. Obedient plant Rosea has light pink flowers and spreads well.

Phlox is a perennial originally native to North America. It soon achieved great popularity in European gardens and has been systematically bred since the 19th century. It is a classic cut flower perennial, delighting not only with colorful blooms but also a gentle fragrance. Harvest when about half the flowers in the cluster are open, and it will last up to 10 days in a vase. 'White Clouds' belongs to the resistant cultivars with good adaptability to drier soil. It also resists fungal diseases well and can handle competition from the root systems of surrounding shrubs and trees.

An original wild perennial with a large distribution area from Europe to Siberia. Suitable for natural and wild plantings. It grows in meadows and dry grassy places. A very adaptable and undemanding plant, it grows in clumps and spreads via runners. Cutting back after the first flowering encourages a new set of flowers. We harvest for bouquets when the florets are fully open. They last 10 days in a vase.

Anemones come from the same family as buttercups. With their elegant flowers on long slender stems, they can enliven and brighten up late summer and autumn flowerbeds. They stand out against the darker background of shrub groups and will also appreciate their partial shade. The Czech Perennial Association chose autumn anemones as the perennial of the season for 2022. They last 7 days in a vase. Andrea Atkinson is a tender cultivar of autumn anemone with white petals.

Gaura is a clump-forming perennial originally from Texas and Louisiana. Here it behaves more like a short-lived perennial. It combines beautifully with grasses and adds lightness and airiness to flowerbeds. It is excellent pasture for insects. Tiny flowers similar to small butterflies bloom tirelessly from June until the first frosts. Harvest for bouquets immediately as soon as the first two to three flowers open on the stem. Whirling Butterflies blooms with pure white flowers that gradually acquire a pink tinge. Buds are also usually pinkish. Characterized by compact growth and blooms profusely.

Despite efforts to breed the most resistant cultivars, it remains true that Phlox reacts extremely sensitively to climate and soil conditions, so we carefully pay attention to the correct choice of site. The Sweet Summer series includes cultivars bred for greater resistance to fungal diseases. Sweet Summer Ocean is a very special cultivar introduced to the market in 2012. It is characterized by the color variability of flowers during the day. In cool mornings, the flowers are blue; as temperatures rise, they fade, and by noon they transition to purple-pink.

Brunnera is a long-lived perennial originally from the mountain meadows and forests of the Caucasus. It is interesting not only when in bloom. The leaves are large, heart-shaped, and light green. They form a contrasting background for the delicate and tiny flowers that appear above the carpet of leaves from April to May. It sprouts early and dies back late, making it a valuable groundcover perennial.

Lupines are striking for their unmistakable flowers and decorative compound leaves. Naturally, they are rather short-lived perennials. Their lifespan is usually around five years. They are valued for their use as cut flowers and as bee pasture. Elegant creamy white lupine.

Soapwort is a hardy and low-maintenance perennial that blooms for a very long time and has a sweet, subtle fragrance. Its roots contain saponin and were once used to wash wool. The wild form spreads too aggressively in the garden. Cultivated double-flowered forms are much more moderate. Harvest as soon as one-third of the flowers on the stem have opened. Lasts 7 days in a vase. Rosea Plena features full, sweet pink flowers.

An undemanding and modest perennial that blooms with a large number of tiny flowers. It blooms for a record-breaking length of time throughout late summer and autumn. It forms smaller, compact, airy bushes that release a minty-spicy scent. The thyme-like flowers attract bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. It will look good among roses as well as in naturalistic steppe beds, perhaps with lower grasses. This calamint is generally more vigorous. It differs from other calamints with felted leaves by its record flowering length, stiff and shiny leaves, and also a larger number of flowers that do not form seeds and are therefore maximally durable. Sometimes sold under the cultivar name 'Triumphator'.

This Yarrow grows primarily in damp or wet habitats – wet meadows, springs, banks of watercourses and ponds. The flowers are semi-double with a gray-yellow center. They last 10 days in a vase.
