You will receive a grown seedling in a pot from us, which you just need to transplant to a sunny location with well-drained loamy soil. The cultivar Royal Wedding will reward you in May and June with huge bowl-shaped flowers with pure white petals, which hide a distinct dark burgundy spot in their center. Moreover, these enchanting flowers reliably attract pollinators from far and wide. It is typical for Oriental poppies that their strikingly fuzzy green leaves die back soon after flowering. The plant takes a break over the warmest summer to gather strength, and a smaller portion of the leaves often sprouts again only at the end of summer. Therefore, it is ideal to plant the poppy in the flower bed in close proximity to other perennials that sprout slightly later and naturally fill the empty space left by the resting poppy. It avoids diseases and needs no support, reaching a height of around sixty to eighty centimeters. Just watch out for field voles, which might develop a taste for its fleshy roots. Thanks to this procedure, they will stay beautiful for about four days in a vase and add amazing lightness to bouquets. Although these delicate flowers are not suitable for drying, they simply have no competition in fresh spring bouquets.

Ideální podmínky a výsadba
Sazenice máčky 'Silver Salentino' je ideální volbou pro suchomilné, stepní partie zahrady nebo moderní štěrkové záhony. Vyžaduje místo, kam se opírá slunce po většinu dne. Půda by měla být spíše chudší a především perfektně propustná (písčitá, kamenitá). Při výsadbě dodržujte spon 40 až 50 cm; hustší výsadba by mohla bránit proudění vzduchu a rostliny by si konkurovaly. Ačkoliv je rostlina velmi odolná, po vysazení ji v prvních týdnech mírně zalévejte, dokud neprokoření do hlubších vrstev půdy.
Péče během roku a hnojení
Jedná se o rostlinu, pro kterou platí pravidlo „méně je více“. Máčka nevyžaduje téměř žádné hnojení; v příliš výživné půdě by rostla příliš bujně na úkor pevnosti stonků a intenzity stříbřité barvy. Co se týče vláhy, dospělé rostliny jsou velmi tolerantní k suchu. Díky své výšce 70–100 cm a pevným stonkům obvykle nepotřebuje oporu, pokud roste na plném slunci v chudší půdě.
Využití a zimní údržba
Květy jsou velmi vhodné k řezu do čerstvých kytic i k sušení. Pro sušení stříhejte stonky v plném květu během slunného dne a zavěste je květenstvím dolů na tmavém, vzdušném místě. Pokud květy nesklidíte, ponechte je na záhoně přes zimu. Rostlina je sice vysoce mrazuvzdorná (zóna 4a), ale suché stonky přirozeně chrání střed rostliny a navíc v zimě plní okrasnou funkci. Starou nať odstraňte až na jaře. Pozor dejte na hraboše, kterým chutnají kořeny – v rizikových zahradách zvažte výsadbu do drátěných košů.
Máčka v truhlíku či květináči
Pěstování v květináčích je u máčky možné, ačkoliv se jí nejlépe daří ve volné půdě. Pokud se pro nádobu rozhodnete, musí být dostatečně objemná a hluboká, aby pojmula kořenový systém. Použijte chudší substrát s velkým podílem písku či perlitu, aby voda rychle odtékala. V nádobě rostlina nesmí stát v podmisce s vodou, jinak uhyne. Na slunných balkonech bude působit velmi moderně.

Eryngium yuccifolium catches the eye at first glance with its exotic appearance, which resembles a desert yucca more than a classic perennial. It originates from the steppe regions and light forests of the eastern USA, where it has learned to manage water excellently. Thanks to this, it is an ideal choice for sunny and dry locations with well-drained, even poorer sandy soil. It forms a basal rosette of stiff, blue-green to gray-green leaves, from which tall stems topped with spherical inflorescences grow in summer. The flowers are up to 2.5 cm in diameter and their color transitions from silvery white to greenish. The plant is very hardy and does not suffer from pests or diseases.
Its flowers are literally a magnet for pollinators, especially bees and butterflies, who find plenty of food on them.
