Ozdobný česnek Mercurius přináší do zahrady lehkost a jemnou strukturu, která na sebe okamžitě strhne pozornost. Během června a července vytváří na pevných stoncích vysokých šedesát až osmdesát centimetrů nádherná kulovitá květenství ve světlých fialových a lila tónech. Tato voňavá trvalka vyžaduje plné slunce a propustnou půdu, jinak je ale zcela nenáročná a péči o ni hravě zvládnou i úplní začátečníci. Vyhýbají se jí běžné choroby i škůdci a bez potíží přestojí kruté zimy s teplotami hluboko pod bodem mrazu. Z naší nabídky dostanete přímo nadstandardně velkou cibuli, kterou už jen stačí usadit do země na vybraném stanovišti. Protože přes léto rostlina zatahuje do země, doporučujeme ji kombinovat s nižšími trávami nebo listnatými trvalkami, které záhon udrží krásně zelený i po jejím odkvětu. Všechny části rostliny jsou navíc jedlé a můžete s nimi tvořit i v kuchyni. Květy jsou magnetem pro opylovače a vnáší do zahrady život, ale stejně tak jim to sluší v řezaných letních kyticích. Ozdobný česnek Mercurius představuje naprosto okouzlující a zároveň zcela bezúdržbovou trvalku, která vnese do každé zahrady život a jemnou eleganci. Základním předpokladem pro bohaté kvetení je správná podzimní výsadba, na kterou máte dostatek času od začátku září až hluboko do listopadu. Vaše cibule, které vám dodáme v nadstandardní velikosti pro ten nejlepší start, je bezpodmínečně nutné až do samotného zasazení uchovávat v naprostém suchu, chladnu a temnu. Následně pro ně na zahradě vyberte to nejslunnější možné místo s lehkou, písčitou či hlinitou půdou, která musí být dobře propustná pro vodu. Samotná výsadba nevyžaduje žádné hluboké odborné znalosti. Cibuli uložte pevně do hloubky zhruba 10 až 15 centimetrů pod povrch zeminy. Pro vytvoření krásně zapojeného a bohatého vizuálního efektu v záhonu doporučujeme dodržovat sázecí spon kolem 25 centimetrů od sebe.
V jarních měsících, kdy se objeví první výrazně zelené listy, zjistíte, že se tato rostlina o sebe v podstatě postará sama. Zálivka by měla být jen velmi střídmá a nárazová, protože česneky obecně ze všeho nejhůře snáší dlouhodobé přemokření kořenů, které by s jistotou vedlo k postupné hnilobě samotných cibulí. V průběhu června a července se rostlina odvděčí a vytvoří na 60 až 80 centimetrů vysokých stoncích svá typická, dokonale kulovitá květenství ve světlých fialových a lila tónech. Květy jsou nejen vizuálně nádherné, ale navíc příjemně voní a fungují jako doslova magnet na včely i další užitečné opylovače. Jsou vynikající k přímému řezu do čerstvých letních váz, ale stejně tak se dají sušit pro dlouhodobé dekorativní aranžmá. Navíc jsou všechny části této byliny pro člověka jedlé a můžete s nimi experimentovat při vaření.
Jakmile koncem léta odkvete, začíná tato trvalka přirozeně zatahovat své listy do země, aby veškerou načerpanou sílu stáhla zpět do cibule a uložila ji tam pro další rok. Proto zkušení zahradníci doporučují vysadit ji poblíž rostlin s hustým olistěním, jako jsou nižší trávy, které tento dočasný letní útlum elegantně vizuálně zamaskují. Jednou z největších předností tohoto vytrvalého druhu je jeho mimořádná celková odolnost a vitalita. Nepotřebuje žádnou vaši asistenci v boji proti škůdcům ani houbovým chorobám, protože je od přírody extrémně zdravý. S koncem sezóny pak cibule zůstávají bez jakýchkoliv obav na svém místě v zemi. Rostlina totiž naprosto spolehlivě a bez poškození odolává i těm nejtužším mrazům až do neuvěřitelných -28 °C. Příští rok na jaře se tak ze stejného místa opět bezpečně a v plné síle vyklube na svět.
