Cultivation
Saturejka horská je mimořádně nenáročná trvalka, kterou snadno zvládnou pěstovat i naprostí začátečníci. Jelikož od nás obdržíte již vzrostlou sazenici, můžete se rovnou pustit do výsadby na trvalé stanoviště. Klíčem k úspěchu je výběr správného místa. Této bylině vyhovuje plné, horké slunce a nejlépe se jí daří v chudé, propustné a sušší půdě. Může být klidně i kamenitá nebo štěrkovitá. Těžkým a přemokřeným půdám se určitě vyhněte, kořeny by v nich mohly uhnívat. Saturejce postačí chudá, propustná půda v záhonech na slunném místě nebo v truhlíku a květináči. Sucho zvládá dobře.
Při samotné výsadbě na záhon dodržujte spon zhruba pětadvacet centimetrů, což odpovídá osmnácti rostlinám na metr čtvereční. Tento rozestup zajistí rostlinám dostatek prostoru k vytvoření hustého keříku o výšce dvacet až čtyřicet centimetrů a zároveň umožní dobré proudění vzduchu. Během sezóny nevyžaduje saturejka téměř žádnou péči. Nemusíte ji vůbec hnojit, přebytek živin by dokonce snížil intenzitu její vůně a chuti. Zálivka by měla být jen velmi mírná, rostlina skvěle snáší sucho. Velikou výhodou je, že tato bylinka netrpí na žádné choroby a vyhýbají se jí i škůdci.
Během srpna a září saturejka vykvete drobnými bílými a fialovými kvítky, které na vaši zahradu spolehlivě přilákají včely a další opylovače. Abyste podpořili vitalitu rostliny a udrželi její kompaktní tvar, doporučujeme po odkvětu nebo brzy na jaře provést mírný zpětný řez. Rostlina je výborně mrazuvzdorná a bez problémů snese teploty až do minus třiadvaceti stupňů Celsia. Na zimu nevyžaduje žádnou speciální ochranu, pouze si dejte pozor na zimní přemokření. Pokud nemáte zahradu, pěstování v nádobách je naprosto ideální. Zvolte květináč s drenážním otvorem, na dno dejte vrstvu štěrku a použijte propustný substrát smíchaný s pískem.
