You can harvest fresh leaves continuously throughout the growing season; simply cut the sprigs off with clean shears. However, if you plan to dry rosemary for storage, the best time to harvest is just before flowering. During this period, the leaves contain the absolute highest concentration of aromatic compounds and essential oils. We recommend tying the cut sprigs into bundles and hanging them in a dry, dark, and well-ventilated place.

In all likelihood, these are whiteflies, tiny sap-sucking pests that sometimes thrive on a weakened rosemary plant, especially if you are overwatering it. On rosemary, it most often appears when the plant lacks sufficient air circulation or grows in an environment with excessive humidity. When watering, be very careful not to wet the leaves – water belongs exclusively to the soil. For severe infestations, apply a suitable organic fungicide.

The Hishtil Perigord variety is a relatively fast-growing perennial that forms beautiful compact shrubs 80 to 120 cm tall when mature. It is an evergreen plant with an interesting winter effect. Keep the soil only slightly moist and place the container in a bright spot protected from direct midday sun until the plant takes root.

If the plant is planted in heavy soil or if the pot lacks sufficient drainage, the roots begin to suffocate and subsequently rot. In such a case, reduce watering immediately, let the substrate dry out completely, and in more severe cases, transplant the plant into new, much airier soil. Another possible reason for yellowing can be a long-term lack of direct sunlight.

The possibilities are truly vast. In the kitchen, rosemary is indispensable for roasted meat, summer marinades, roasted potatoes, or homemade herb oils. You can consume it without any concerns. Beyond cooking, the 'Hishtil Perigord' cultivar is also great for crafting. Its sturdy stems remain fresh for an incredibly long time, making them perfect greenery for fresh bouquets. Dried sprigs, on the other hand, are popular for making homemade wreaths or dried arrangements that will scent your entire apartment.

This herb is very undemanding in terms of moisture and tolerates drought much better than overwatering. Therefore, water it sparingly and only when the top layer of the substrate has completely dried out.
