The 'Blue Ice' amsonia comes from the eastern regions of the United States, where it grows on moister grassy plains. It will bring a refreshing sky-blue color to your garden, appearing right at the turn of May and June. You will receive a mature potted seedling from us, which simply needs to be transplanted into humous loamy soil in the sun or partial shade. It is an absolutely undemanding perennial that is not bothered by pests or diseases and reliably survives even very severe frosts. Its fresh green leaves resemble a willow and turn into mustard-yellow tones in the autumn. The 'Blue Ice' cultivar is compact, growing to about forty centimeters, and will fit perfectly into mixed beds, where it reliably attracts bees. Amsonia is also excellent for cutting into vases. The stems ooze white sap when injured, so slightly singe them with a flame after cutting. The water in the vase will then remain clean, and the flowers will bring you joy for up to ten days. Sazenice amsónie 'Blue Ice' přinese do vaší zahrady svěží modrou barvu a je skvělou volbou i pro úplné začátečníky. Této spolehlivé a dlouhověké trvalce se bude nejlépe dařit na slunném stanovišti, případně v lehkém polostínu. Před výsadbou půdu dobře prokypřete a obohaťte o kompost, protože rostlina vyžaduje humózní a hlinitou zeminu. Amsónie sice ocení záhon s dostatečně vlhkou půdou, ale jakmile v zahradě zdomácní a vytvoří si silný kořenový systém, stane se vysoce odolnou a zvládne i občasné sucho. Při samotné výsadbě dodržujte spon 40 až 45 cm, což odpovídá zhruba 6 až 9 sazenicím na metr čtvereční, aby se rostliny vzájemně neutlačovaly.
Během sezóny vás tato rostlina rozhodně nezatíží složitou péčí. Její pevné a kompaktní trsy se nerozklesávají, takže nebudete muset řešit žádnou oporu. Výrazným benefitem pro každého pěstitele je její celkové zdraví – netrpí totiž na žádné plísně, choroby ani škůdce. Spousta zákazníků se ptá, zda lze amsónii pěstovat také v květináči nebo truhlíku na balkoně. Odpověď zní ano, ovšem musíte jí dopřát dostatečně velkou nádobu s drenážními otvory. Při pěstování v nádobě pamatujte na to, že substrát vysychá rychleji, takže zálivka musí být častější. Zároveň je vhodné na jaře přidat trochu granulovaného nebo tekutého hnojiva pro podporu kvetení.
Osvěžující modré květy zdobí amsónii na přelomu května a června, kdy do zahrady lákají opylovače. Pokud je chcete využít k řezu, dodržujte několik jednoduchých pravidel pro delší trvanlivost ve váze:
- Po uříznutí konce stonků mírně opalte plamenem, čímž zastavíte ronění bílého mléka.
- Voda ve váze tak zůstane dokonale čistá a květy vám vydrží až deset dní.
- Během manipulace si dejte pozor, protože celá rostlina je mírně jedovatá. Na podzim amsónie krásně probarví listy a uloží se k zimnímu spánku. Její mrazuvzdornost dosahuje až -34 °C, takže nepotřebuje žádné zakrývání. Zpětný řez suchých stonků proveďte až brzy na jaře.
