Cultivation
Dobromysl obecná je neuvěřitelně nenáročná trvalka, kterou bez problémů zvládnou vypěstovat i úplní začátečníci. Jelikož vám domů dorazí již vzrostlá sazenice v květináči, můžete se rovnou pustit do výsadby. Nejlépe se jí bude dařit na plném slunci a v místech, která se během dne dokážou pořádně prohřát. Zásadní je pro ni dobře propustná a chudá půda - ideální je hlinitá až kamenitá zemina, kde se nedrží přebytečná voda. Pokud máte na zahradě těžkou a přemokřenou půdu, určitě rostlině před zasazením vytvořte na dně jámy drenážní vrstvu ze štěrku. Sazenice vysazujte na vzdálenost zhruba 30 centimetrů od sebe, což odpovídá přibližně dvanácti rostlinám na metr čtvereční. Tento rozestup zajistí dobrou cirkulaci vzduchu a podpoří zdravý růst celého trsu.
Zálivka by měla být po zakořenění rostliny spíše střídmá. Dobromysl je suchomilná a velmi dobře snáší letní sucha, naopak přemokření by mohlo vést k uhnívání kořenů. Co se týče hnojení, můžete na něj v podstatě zapomenout. V chudé půdě bez přidaných živin si totiž lístky zachovávají mnohem silnější a intenzivnější aroma. Pokud nemáte vlastní zahradu, dobromysl je výbornou volbou pro pěstování v nádobách a truhlících na balkonech či terasách. I zde platí pravidlo slunného stanoviště a propustného substrátu, který by měl obsahovat příměs písku. Nezapomeňte také na dostatečně velký odtokový otvor na dně květináče a pravidelně odstraňujte přebytečnou vodu z podmisky.
Během sezóny vás dobromysl potěší záplavou růžových květů, které kvetou od července do září a magicky přitahují opylovače. Abyste podpořili kompaktní růst a případně i opakované kvetení, je dobré rostlinu po prvním odkvětu mírně seříznout. Radost vám udělá i to, že tato bylinka netrpí na žádné škůdce ani běžné choroby, takže odpadá nutnost jakýchkoliv postřiků. S příchodem zimy se nemusíte obávat - dobromysl je plně mrazuvzdorná až do -28 °C a na běžném záhoně bez potíží přezimuje bez jakékoliv speciální ochrany. Odumřelé stonky doporučujeme ponechat přes zimu na záhoně jako přirozenou ochranu a hlubší zpětný řez provést až brzy na jaře, čímž podpoříte rašení nových výhonů.

A tall medicinal perennial with decorative, finely divided leaves and a sweet taste and scent similar to anise. It does not form tubers. The delicate, aromatic leaves add an attractive veil-like and bronze smoky effect to a perennial bed. Its flowers are a lure for beneficial insects. It lasts 7–10 days in a vase. Mature umbels with seeds can be dried.
