Dodaná vzrostlá sazenice dobromysli odrůdy 'Hot And Spicy' je připravena k okamžité výsadbě přímo na váš záhon nebo do bylinkové zahrádky. Protože tato aromatická trvalka původně pochází z prosluněného Středomoří, miluje slunná a horká stanoviště. Pro úspěšné pěstování je naprosto klíčová dobře propustná, sušší a spíše písčitá půda, ve které se nebude držet přebytečná voda. Těžká nebo trvale zamokřená zemina kořenům nesvědčí. Při výsadbě na zahradu dodržujte spon přibližně 30 centimetrů od sebe, což odpovídá zhruba jedenácti rostlinám na jeden metr čtvereční. Takový rozestup zajistí vynikající cirkulaci vzduchu kolem listů, poskytne kořenovému systému dostatek místa k rozvoji a rostliny se brzy spojí do krásně zeleného porostu.
Jakmile se sazenice na novém místě dobře uchytí, stane se z ní velmi nenáročná a silně suchomilná rostlina. Zálivku vyžaduje pouze občasnou, a to až ve chvíli, kdy okolní půda zřetelně proschne. S hnojením si nemusíte lámat hlavu, protože chudší půda naopak výrazně přispívá k tvorbě éterických olejů a zintenzivňuje její proslulou pikantní chuť. Zákazníci se často ptají, zda je možné tuto bylinku pěstovat i mimo klasický záhon. Odpověď zní ano, dobromysli velmi vyhovuje pěstování v nádobách či prostorných truhlících na balkonech a terasách. Při sázení do květináče nezapomeňte na dostatečné odtokové otvory a nasypte na dno vrstvu štěrku nebo keramzitu jako drenáž, aby voda mohla volně odtékat.
Během letních měsíců, přesněji od července do září, vás dobromysl odmění záplavou drobných růžových a bílých květů. Ty jsou nejen vizuálně velmi atraktivní a hodí se k řezu do vázy, ale fungují také jako spolehlivé lákadlo pro opylovače, takže vaše zahrada ožije včelami a motýly. Běžná údržba během sezóny spočívá hlavně v odstraňování odkvetlých výhonů a pravidelném stříhání natě pro kulinářské nebo floristické účely, čímž rostlinu přirozeně zmlazujete a udržujete její kompaktní tvar o výšce kolem třiceti centimetrů. Odrůda navíc netrpí na žádné choroby ani škůdce, takže chemická ochrana zcela odpadá. Zima pro tuto trvalku nepředstavuje žádný problém, má vynikající mrazuvzdornost až do -23 °C a nepotřebuje žádné speciální zazimování ani přikrývání.

Barbecue is an upright growing cultivar with narrower, distinctly aromatic leaves.

Thyme Coccineus
Mateřídouška Coccineus je drobná, ale nepřehlédnutelná trvalka, která do zahrady vnese nádhernou vůni a záplavu barev. Ve volné přírodě roste na slunných a suchých stráních, skalách a písčitých místech, proto i u vás na zahradě ocení podobné podmínky. Nejlépe se jí daří na plném slunci v dobře propustné a chudší písčité půdě. Je to naprosto nenáročná rostlina, kterou bez obav zvládnou i začátečníci. Nevyžaduje téměř žádnou zálivku, netrpí na choroby ani škůdce a bez problémů odolává i silným mrazům až do minus osmadvaceti stupňů. Tato plazivá rostlinka dorůstá výšky pouhých pět až deset centimetrů a rychle vytváří husté zelené polštáře. Od června do srpna se kultivar Coccineus halí do nápadných karmínově růžových květů, které intenzivně voní. Jde o obrovské lákadlo pro včely, čmeláky a motýly, kterým poskytuje bohatou pastvu. Skvěle se hodí do skalek, suchých zídek, koryt nebo jako voňavá obruba slunných záhonů a chodníčků. Obdržíte od nás vzrostlou sazenici v květináči, kterou stačí jen přesadit rovnou na vybrané místo. Květy a aromatické lístky této mateřídoušky jsou navíc jedlé. Výborně poslouží v kuchyni při dochucování letních pokrmů, přípravě bylinkových čajů nebo jako jedlá dekorace na talíři. Ačkoli to pro svou malou výšku není typická rostlina k řezu do velkých váz, drobné voňavé snítky můžete přidat do malých letních kytiček nebo je usušit, protože si i po zaschnutí dlouho uchovávají své nezaměnitelné aroma.
