Stevia rebaudiana

Stevia

Originally South American, stevia is cultivated for its leaves containing sweet-tasting substances, but without unwanted calories. It blooms in late summer with tiny white flowers, which are worth removing so that the plants do not exhaust themselves. At that time, they should have the maximum steviol content. The leaves can be used fresh or dried. Show full description

Stipa tenuissima

Feather grass flowers capture attention in beds and bouquets with their lightness and delicacy. All feather grasses love full sun and dry, stony, well-drained soil. To look most natural in beds, it is good to plant them in loose groups of several pieces together with other drought-loving perennials and bulbs. Only then do their stems and inflorescences, set in motion by the slightest breath of wind, truly stand out. Stipa 'Ponny Tails' is a species native to the steppes of Mexico, Texas, and Patagonia. Airy, dense clumps of hair-like delicate leaves resemble horsehair. The leaves are green, turning up to straw-colored towards the flowers. In a suitable location, it also self-seeds.

Dicentra spectabilis Alba

The original home of bleeding hearts is Korea and China, where they grow in light deciduous forests. They are classic garden perennials. They will look perfect in nostalgically styled flower beds; the white variant fits well even into naturalistic woodland gardens. They are popular for their heart-shaped flowers hanging on horizontal or arching stems. These weaken and die back some time after flowering; all the plant's energy then concentrates in the roots, and at that moment, we can cut the above-ground part back completely. For the rest of the year, we won't even know the bleeding heart is in the garden. It will remind us of its charm again in the spring. Perfect vase life, at least 7 days. Harvest when the first 3–4 flowers open on the stem. Alba has beautiful pure white flowers; the shoots sprouting in spring are light lime green.

Rosmarinus officinalis

Rosemary originates from the Mediterranean and North Africa, where it grows wild in dry, rocky, and fully sunny habitats. In the Mediterranean, it is grown for extracting fragrant essential oils and as an ornamental plant used for stabilizing slopes and for hedges. Here, we most often grow it as a portable plant in a pot; alternatively, in a protected spot, we can try growing hardier species in an open flower bed. Hishtil Perigord is a fast-growing variety with greyish-green leaves and blue flowers.

An interesting tuberous perennial with flowers that bloom from the top. This peculiarity even gave it its second Czech name – 'shorakvět' (top-flower). A valuable garden and medicinal perennial, originally from North America. It blooms in summer with dark purple-pink flowers. The spiky flower discs are an irresistible lure for butterflies. Lasts 7–10 days in a vase. After plucking the petals, the stems with the central discs can be dried or used in fresh bouquets as an interesting element. For bouquets, we harvest as soon as a quarter or half of the flowers on the stem are open. They last 7 days in a vase. Tempest Scarlet blooms with semi-double flowers of a deep scarlet color. Alcea rosea plena

Hollyhocks are a necessity for every lover of rural atmosphere. Naturally, it is a biennial or short-lived perennial. However, its instability is balanced by beautiful double flowers and a distinct silhouette and height. Cultivation

The information given is based on our experience, please use it as a guide only. Times may vary depending on the season, climate, location, sowing and transplanting dates and possibly also the conditions in the greenhouse/greenhouse. We always recommend testing how the plant performs in your conditions. Please do not take this as a guarantee.

Thymus serphyllus Coccineus

Nevyžaduje téměř žádnou zálivku, netrpí na choroby ani škůdce a bez problémů odolává i silným mrazům až do minus osmadvaceti stupňů.
