Této trvalce se bude nejlépe dařit na slunném místě nebo v mírném polostínu, kde bude mít dostatek světla pro bohaté kvetení, ale zároveň nebude trpět úpalem během nejteplejších letních dnů. Protože obdržíte již zapěstovanou sazenici, můžete ji vysadit na záhon prakticky kdykoliv během vegetační sezóny, pokud není půda zamrzlá nebo příliš podmáčená. Půdu vyžaduje kyprou, hlinitou a bohatou na humus, která dokáže zadržet vláhu, ale zároveň je dostatečně propustná. Při výsadbě dodržujte spon zhruba 50 cm, což odpovídá přibližně 4 až 6 rostlinám na metr čtvereční.
