Plamenka latnatá je trvalka, která pro svůj zdárný růst vyžaduje specifické, ale snadno dosažitelné podmínky. Ideálním místem je otevřené, slunné stanoviště, kde proudí vzduch, což přirozeně osušuje listy po dešti a brání vzniku chorob. Ačkoliv snese i polostín, na plném slunci pokvete nejbohatěji, pokud jí zajistíte dostatek vláhy. Půda by měla být hluboká, propustná a bohatá na živiny. Před výsadbou sazenice zapracujte do země kvalitní kompost. Protože jde o kompaktní odrůdu, nepotřebuje oporu, ale ocení dostatek prostoru kolem sebe, proto rostliny sázejte v rozestupech alespoň půl metru. Tato odrůda patří k dlouhověkým trvalkám, takže na jednom místě vydrží mnoho let, přičemž se postupně rozrůstá do šířky a vytváří bohaté trsy.
