Pro úspěšné pěstování je naprosto klíčový výběr půdy. Rostlina pochází z drsných středomořských podmínek, takže vyžaduje velmi chudou, propustnou a ideálně štěrkovitou nebo kamenitou půdu. Těžká, jílovitá a přemokřená zemina by spolehlivě vedla k uhnívání kořenů a zániku rostliny. Sazenice sázejte s rozestupem třicet centimetrů od sebe, což odpovídá zhruba dvanácti rostlinám na metr čtvereční. Díky tomu, že je tento kultivar přirozeně velmi odolný, nepotřebuje prakticky žádnou další péči.
Zálivka by měla být po celou dobu pěstování velmi střídmá a opatrná. Vláhu rostlina potřebuje pouze v prvních týdnech po výsadbě, než sazenice dobře zakoření. Jakmile se uchytí, bez problémů zvládne i delší období sucha a plné letní slunce. Oregáno není nutné vůbec přihnojovat. Nadbytek živin nebo příliš humózní půda by naopak způsobily vytahování stonků, ztrátu kompaktního tvaru a paradoxně by se snížila i intenzita nezaměnitelné vůně. Během celého léta, od července až do září, vás rostlina odmění bohatou záplavou růžových květů, které na zahradu spolehlivě přilákají včely a motýly. Jeho největší a v podstatě jedinou hrozbou během zimních měsíců tedy není samotný mráz, ale stojatá zimní voda a sníh. Právě proto je kvalitní drenáž a propustný podklad tak nesmírně důležitý pro úspěšné přezimování. Z hlediska údržby se vyplatí ponechat nadzemní část přes zimu na záhoně, protože přirozeně chrání srdíčko rostliny. Až brzy na jaře je vhodné provést radikální zpětný řez, při kterém odstraníte všechny suché a odumřelé výhony nízko nad zemí. Tímto zásahem rostlinu omladíte a podpoříte růst nových, silných a bohatě olistěných výhonů pro nadcházející sezónu.
Zákazníci se nás často ptají, zda je možné tuto nádhernou trvalku pěstovat také na balkonech. Odpověď zní ano, okrasné oregano můžete bez obav pěstovat i v nádobě nebo truhlíku. You will receive a grown seedling in a pot from us, which you simply transplant directly into the garden at your chosen spot. It will thrive best in full sun with humus-rich and well-draining soil, where it has adequate watering.
In the garden bed, it grows to a height of around forty to sixty centimeters and forms fresh green, distinctly aromatic leaves. These are popular for their unmistakable culinary use, where they enrich many recipes. During June and July, tiny white flowers arranged in delicate umbels appear above the clump of leaves.
