Helianthemum hybrida

Devaterník Bronzeteppich je nenápadný hrdina skalek a suchých zídek, který se v plném slunci doslova rozzáří. Původní botanické druhy těchto polokeřů bychom našli na slunných a kamenitých stráních, kde si poradí i s velmi chudou a propustnou půdou. Právě díky tomuto původu je devaterník mimořádně odolný vůči suchu a miluje sluneční paprsky, které probouzejí záplavu jeho drobných květů. V zahradě funguje jako skvělý půdopokryvný prvek, který svými stálezelenými listy zdobí záhony i v zimních měsících, kdy většina trvalek odpočívá pod zemí. Odrůda Bronzeteppich, jak už název napovídá, vytváří husté koberce poseté množstvím květů v hřejivém odstínu terakoty a oranžové. Nakvétá postupně od května až do července a stává se tak neodolatelným lákadlem pro včely a další opylovače, kteří v jeho květech nacházejí bohatý zdroj potravy. Dorůstá výšky pouze okolo dvaceti centimetrů, proto se skvěle hodí na okraje záhonů nebo do skalek, kde vyplní prázdná místa mezi kameny. Ačkoliv se nehodí k řezu do vázy ani k sušení, jeho hodnota v živé zahradě je nenahraditelná. Péče o něj je minimální, stačí mu zajistit dobře propustnou písčitou půdu a dostatek slunce, o zbytek se postará sám.

Helianthemum hybrida

Devaterník Sulphureum Plenum je doslova milovník slunce, který rozzáří každou skalku nebo suchou zídku. Původní druhy těchto nízkých polokeřů najdeme na slunných a kamenitých stráních, proto i v zahradě vyžadují propustnou, chudší a spíše písčitou půdu, kde se voda nedrží. Od května do července se rostlina pokryje záplavou drobných plných květů v pastelově žlutém odstínu, které svým tvarem připomínají miniaturní růžičky. Díky svému nízkému a poléhavému růstu se skvěle hodí k lemování záhonů nebo vyplnění spár mezi kameny. Velkou předností je zimní efekt, kdy si rostlina zachovává svěže zelené listí a záhon tak nezůstane prázdný ani pod sněhem. Aby si tento devaterník udržel kompaktní a hustý tvar, doporučujeme jej po odkvětu sestřihnout. Je plně mrazuvzdorný a láká množství opylovačů.

Tento stálezelený polokeř se vyznačuje poléhavým růstem a drobnými, stříbřitě šedými listy, které si svou atraktivitu zachovávají i v zimním období, čímž zajišťují celoroční efekt. Salvia nemorosa

This species of sage originally comes from the steppe regions of Central and Eastern Europe. It forms profusely flowering small clumps with straight upright stems. In flower beds, it looks best in groups. Traditionally, due to the identical flowering time, it is planted as a companion to roses. However, it will look just as good in mixed drought-loving steppe plantings with grasses. It lasts 7 days in a vase. The cultivar Caradonna stands out with a long flowering period and dark, almost black-purple stems with tiny purple flowers and dark purple bracts. If we cut it back after flowering, it will bloom again in late August and September.

Gaura is a clump-forming perennial native to Texas and Louisiana. Here, it behaves more like a short-lived perennial. It combines beautifully with grasses and adds lightness and airiness to flower beds. It is an excellent food source for insects. Tiny flowers resembling small butterflies bloom tirelessly from June until the first frosts. For bouquets, harvest as soon as the first two or three flowers open on the stem. Siskiyou Pink is a beautiful variety with pink-red flowers on slightly arching stems. It is less hardy than the white-flowering varieties. The red-spotted leaves are also interesting.

The Czech Perennial Association chose autumn Anemones as the perennial of the season for 2022. They last 7 days in a vase. Whirlwind is a historical variety bred in 1887 in the USA. It has a semi-double pure white flower, often with inner twisted petals, and compact, strictly upright growth. The flowers are very durable.
