The Oriental poppy originates from the Caucasus, Turkey, and Iran, where it grows on rocky slopes and dry meadows. It blooms with large bowl-shaped flowers on tall stems. Like all poppies, for use in bouquets, we harvest them as soon as the buds color up and "crack". Additionally, we briefly (for about 20 seconds) sear the ends of the stems with a flame and immediately place them in cold water. Then they last in a vase for 4 days. The strikingly hairy and large leaves die back shortly after flowering, and the plant must rest until spring to gather strength. A portion of the leaves sprouts again in late summer. Therefore, it is advisable to plant other perennials in close proximity that sprout later and can draw attention to themselves during the poppy's pause. Sazenici divizny Pink Domino vysazujte ideálně na plné slunce, kde se naplno projeví její krása. Divizny jsou suchomilné a spíše krátkověké trvalky, někdy jen dvouletky. Hodně záleží na volbě správného stanoviště. Nejlépe se jim bude dařit v dobře odvodněných, lehkých štěrkových a písčitých půdách. Těžkým a přemokřeným jílovitým zeminám se raději vyhněte, rostlinám by v nich přes zimu uhnívaly kořeny, což je častý důvod jejich úhynu. Sazenice sázejte do záhonu na jaře nebo začátkem podzimu do sponu 40 centimetrů, což odpovídá zhruba pěti až sedmi rostlinám na metr čtvereční. Tento rozestup spolehlivě zajistí dostatečnou cirkulaci vzduchu kolem atraktivních šedozelených listů.
Jakmile divizna zakoření, je péče o ni naprosto minimální a zvládne ji i úplný začátečník. Zálivku vyžaduje pouze během opravdu extrémního sucha, jinak si s vláhou poradí sama. Stejně tak nepotřebuje žádné přihnojování, v příliš živné půdě by mohla ztratit svůj kompaktní tvar a začít se lámat. Ačkoliv dorůstá do výšky přes jeden metr, nepotřebuje žádnou oporu. Obrovskou výhodou tohoto kultivaru je, že netrpí na žádné choroby a škůdci se mu obloukem vyhýbají. Můžete se tak těšit ze zdravé a silné rostliny bez nutnosti používat jakékoliv postřiky.
Květenství se objevují v květnu a červnu a lákají do zahrady množství opylovačů. Po odkvětu můžeme rostliny seříznout, aby znovu obrazily a nakvetly. Tento zpětný řez výrazně podpoří celkovou vitalitu a prodlouží životnost této jinak spíše krátkověké trvalky. S mrazuvzdorností si nemusíte dělat těžkou hlavu, rostlina spolehlivě zvládne zimní teploty až do hlubokých -23 °C. Přes zimu je ovšem absolutně nutné zabránit hromadění vlhkosti u kořenů, protože zimní mokro je jejím největším nepřítelem.
Diviznu lze s úspěchem pěstovat i v nádobách a prostorných truhlících, což je skvělá zpráva pro majitele slunných teras. Pro pěstování v květináči zvolte dostatečně hlubokou nádobu, protože divizna tvoří dlouhý kůlový kořen. Na dno nezapomeňte nasypat silnou vrstvu drenáže z kamínků nebo keramzitu a použijte velmi propustný substrát smíchaný s pískem. V nádobě bude rostlina potřebovat o něco častější zálivku než v záhonu, ale vždy nechte substrát před dalším zalitím dokonale proschnout. Nezapomeňte také, že z této rostliny si můžete nařezat nádherné kytice do vázy, stačí stonky ustřihnout, když je polovina květů plně otevřená.

An undemanding and modest perennial that blooms with a large number of tiny flowers. It blooms for a record-breaking length of time throughout late summer and autumn.
