Mullein is a charming and rather short-lived perennial that brings the atmosphere of a sun-drenched steppe to the garden. Its homeland is dry areas with plenty of light, so it will appreciate direct sun and well-drained sandy soil the most. Thanks to these modest requirements, growing it is very easy and even a complete beginner can playfully handle it. It hardly needs any watering, playfully survives the winter with frosts down to minus twenty-three degrees, and diseases and pests avoid it. In flowerbeds, it becomes a beautiful dominant feature, as it grows to a height of over one meter. It fits absolutely perfectly into the steppe parts of the garden, where it looks excellent in combination with fine drought-tolerant ornamental grasses. Inflorescences appear during May and June and act as a great attraction for bees and butterflies. We harvest it for bouquets the moment approximately half of the flowers are open, and it stays fresh in a vase for five days. The garden cultivar Pink Domino was created by crossing biennial yellow species and the purple mullein. Sturdy stems bearing relatively large and bright pink flowers grow from gray-green leaves.

Phlox, known as 'plamenka' in Czech, is originally a native perennial from the moister meadows and forest edges of North America. It soon achieved great popularity in European gardens and has been systematically bred since the nineteenth century. It is a classic garden perennial that brings a romantic mood and abundant floods of flowers to summer beds. The approximately one meter tall straight stems are adorned with deep green leaves and bear dense inflorescences on top from July to August. The Sternhimmel variety stands out with elegant small flowers with delicate color transitions in light purple and white. At the same time, the whole plant smells very pleasantly, which acts as a reliable magnet for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies from the wide surroundings.
Although phlox is very easy to grow and even complete beginners can manage the care, it pays to pay attention to the correct choice of location. We send customers already mature seedlings in a pot, which you can easily transplant directly into the garden. Here, phlox thrives best in a sunny to semi-shady location with loamy, humous, and well-drained soil. Sazenici divizny Pink Domino vysazujte ideálně na plné slunce, kde se naplno projeví její krása. Divizny jsou suchomilné a spíše krátkověké trvalky, někdy jen dvouletky. Hodně záleží na volbě správného stanoviště. Nejlépe se jim bude dařit v dobře odvodněných, lehkých štěrkových a písčitých půdách. Těžkým a přemokřeným jílovitým zeminám se raději vyhněte, rostlinám by v nich přes zimu uhnívaly kořeny, což je častý důvod jejich úhynu. Sazenice sázejte do záhonu na jaře nebo začátkem podzimu do sponu 40 centimetrů, což odpovídá zhruba pěti až sedmi rostlinám na metr čtvereční. Tento rozestup spolehlivě zajistí dostatečnou cirkulaci vzduchu kolem atraktivních šedozelených listů.
Jakmile divizna zakoření, je péče o ni naprosto minimální a zvládne ji i úplný začátečník. Zálivku vyžaduje pouze během opravdu extrémního sucha, jinak si s vláhou poradí sama. Stejně tak nepotřebuje žádné přihnojování, v příliš živné půdě by mohla ztratit svůj kompaktní tvar a začít se lámat. Ačkoliv dorůstá do výšky přes jeden metr, nepotřebuje žádnou oporu.
