Krvavec Tanna přináší do zahrady neopakovatelnou lehkost a eleganci divokých luk v úhledném balení. Původní druh je typickou rostlinou vlhkých a rašelinných luk, kde jeho kořeny hledají vláhu hluboko v zemi. Tato zahradní varianta byla vyšlechtěna pro menší vzrůst, takže se svými třiceti až padesáti centimetry zapadne i do kompozic, kde by vysoké trvalky stínily. Tmavě vínové paličky květů vypadají, jako by se vznášely v prostoru nad dekorativními listy, a vytvářejí tak nádherný vizuální efekt, který oceníte zejména při pohledu zblízka.
V zahradě se uplatní v přírodně laděných výsadbách, ve štěrkových záhonech s dostatkem vláhy nebo jako lemování cestiček. Pro úspěšné pěstování krvavce 'Tanna' je klíčový výběr správného stanoviště, které by mělo co nejvíce připomínat jeho přirozené prostředí vlhkých luk. Této kompaktní trvalce se bude nejlépe dařit na slunném stanovišti, kde se dočkáte nejbohatšího kvetení, ale velmi dobře snese i polostín. Půda by měla být ideálně hlinitá až jílovitá, schopná zadržovat vláhu, ale zároveň dostatečně propustná, aby nedocházelo k zahnívání kořenů v zimních měsících. Rostlina nesnáší úplné vyschnutí, proto je důležité dbát na to, aby půda zůstávala stále mírně vlhká. Pokud máte na zahradě písčitou zeminu, doporučujeme ji před výsadbou vylepšit přídavkem kompostu, který pomůže udržet potřebnou vlhkost a dodá živiny. Jelikož obdržíte již vzrostlou sazenici, můžete ji vysazovat v průběhu celé sezóny, dokud nemrzne, přičemž ideální je jaro nebo časný podzim, aby rostlina stihla dobře zakořenit.
Při výsadbě dodržujte doporučený spon 35 až 40 cm, což vychází přibližně na 5 až 7 rostlin na metr čtvereční. Dostatečný rozestup je důležitý nejen pro vizuální efekt, ale především jako prevence proti houbovým chorobám. Ačkoliv je krvavec téměř prostý škůdců a běžně netrpí nemocemi, v příliš hustých výsadbách nebo během horkých a suchých let se může na listech objevit padlí. Dobrá cirkulace vzduchu a pravidelná zálivka ke kořenům (nikoliv na listy) jsou nejlepší prevencí. Co se týče výživy, krvavec není náročný. Postačí mu jarní přihnojení kvalitním kompostem nebo organickým hnojivem. Přehnojení dusíkem by mohlo vést k bujnému růstu listů na úkor květů a k poléhání trsů, které u této odrůdy jinak není běžné díky jejímu nízkému vzrůstu.
Krvavec 'Tanna' je díky své kompaktní výšce 30–50 cm vynikající volbou i pro pěstování v nádobách. Pokud se rozhodnete pro tuto variantu, zvolte dostatečně prostorný květináč s drenážními otvory a na dno nasypte vrstvu štěrku nebo keramzitu. Substrát v nádobách vysychá mnohem rychleji než ve volné půdě, proto bude rostlina vyžadovat častější a pečlivější zálivku, zejména v horkých letních dnech. Tato trvalka je plně mrazuvzdorná až do extrémních teplot (zóna 4a), takže v záhonech nepotřebuje žádnou zimní ochranu. V případě pěstování v nádobě je však vhodné květináč na zimu obalit jutou nebo polystyrenem, aby nepromrzl kořenový bal. Na jaře stačí ostříhat staré suché listy těsně nad zemí, čímž podpoříte růst nových, svěžích výhonů. Květy po odkvětu můžete ponechat pro zajímavou zimní siluetu, nebo je sestřihnout pro úhlednější vzhled.
