Krvavec Pieters (Sanguisorba tenuifolia) je elegantní a dlouhověká trvalka, která do vaší zahrady vnese lehkost a pohyb. Pro jeho výsadbu vyberte místo, kde bude mít dostatek prostoru vyniknout – dorůstá totiž výšky až 150 cm. Nejlépe se mu daří na plném slunci až v polostínu. Zásadním faktorem pro jeho prosperitu je vlhkost; původem pochází z vlhkých luk, proto miluje hlinité až jílovité půdy, které jsou dostatečně humózní a nevysychavé. Pokud mu dopřejete tyto podmínky, odmění se vám vitálním růstem a bohatým kvetením od srpna až do října, kdy se objeví jeho typické kaštanově hnědočervené květy.
Výsadba zakoupené sazenice je snadná. Vykopejte jámu o něco větší, než je kořenový bal, a dno vylepšete kompostem. Rostlinu sázejte tak hluboko, jak byla v původním květináči. Důležité je dodržet rozestupy alespoň 70 cm mezi rostlinami, aby se trsy mohly přirozeně rozrůstat a nedusily se navzájem. Po výsadbě rostlinu vydatně zalijte. V prvním roce po výsadbě, než rostlina plně zakoření, je pravidelná zálivka nutností. V dalších letech si krvavec poradí lépe, ale stále platí, že sucho je jeho nepřítelem. Pokud listy začnou vadnout nebo hnědnout, je to signál, že rostlina žízní.
Z hlediska údržby se jedná o velmi vděčnou rostlinu pro začátečníky. Netrpí na škůdce a je obecně velmi zdravá (atributy uvádí „Bez chorob“ a „Bez škůdců“ 🙂). Pokud by se v extrémně suchém létě objevilo na listech padlí, nebojte se rostlinu sestřihnout u země – rychle vytvoří nové, svěží olistění. Odkvetlá květenství můžete ponechat na rostlině pro podzimní efekt, nebo je použít k řezu a sušení do vazeb. Kompletní sestřižení suchých stonků proveďte na jaře, čímž uvolníte místo pro nové rašení. Mrazuvzdornost je vynikající (-34 °C), takže přezimování v našich podmínkách zvládá bez jakékoliv ochrany či přikrývání.
Pokud zvažujete umístění do květináče či truhlíku, mějte na paměti, že se jedná o robustní trvalku s hlubokým kořenovým systémem. V malém truhlíku by rostlina trpěla a pravděpodobně by nedosáhla své plné krásy ani výšky. Pro pěstování v nádobě vyberte velkoobjemový kontejner (minimálně 40-50 cm v průměru) naplněný kvalitním zahradnickým substrátem smíchaným s hlínou pro lepší zadržování vody. V nádobě je riziko vyschnutí mnohem vyšší a rostlina v ní bude náchylnější k promrznutí kořenů, proto je v zimě vhodné nádobu izolovat, i když je samotná rostlina plně mrazuvzdorná.

Krvavec Tanna přináší do zahrady neopakovatelnou lehkost a eleganci divokých luk v úhledném balení. Původní druh je typickou rostlinou vlhkých a rašelinných luk, kde jeho kořeny hledají vláhu hluboko v zemi. Tato zahradní varianta byla vyšlechtěna pro menší vzrůst, takže se svými třiceti až padesáti centimetry zapadne i do kompozic, kde by vysoké trvalky stínily. Tmavě vínové paličky květů vypadají, jako by se vznášely v prostoru nad dekorativními listy, a vytvářejí tak nádherný vizuální efekt, který oceníte zejména při pohledu zblízka.
V zahradě se uplatní v přírodně laděných výsadbách, ve štěrkových záhonech s dostatkem vláhy nebo jako lemování cestiček.
