Sazenice máty After Eight k vám dorazí plně prokořeněná a připravená k okamžité výsadbě, což bez problému zvládne i naprostý začátečník. Pro úspěšné pěstování vyberte polostinné nebo slunné stanoviště s dostatkem přirozeného světla. Půda by měla být především hlinitá a humózní, aby přirozeně udržovala vlhkost, kterou tato aromatická bylinka ke svému růstu nutně potřebuje. Výsadbu provádějte s rozestupy přibližně čtyřicet centimetrů od sebe. Tento spon zajišťuje dostatečnou cirkulaci vzduchu kolem rostlin, což pomáhá udržet olistění v perfektní kondici, ačkoliv tento kultivar prakticky netrpí na žádné choroby. Máta je neobyčejně vitální trvalka, která se ráda a rychle rozrůstá do okolí pomocí podzemních oddenků. Pokud ji sázíte do volné půdy, důrazně doporučujeme použít spolehlivé kořenové zábrany. Skvěle poslouží například starý plastový květináč s uříznutým dnem zakopaný do země, aby se bylinka na záhonu nekontrolovatelně nerozšířila.\n\nBěhem aktivní sezóny je naprosto nejdůležitější pravidelná zálivka, protože máta vyloženě miluje trvale mírně vlhkou zeminu. Hnojení není u kvalitní zahradní půdy vůbec nezbytné, pro podporu růstu bohatě postačí jarní přidání dobře vyzrálého kompostu k jejím kořenům. Aby se rostlina pěkně a hustě větvila a netvořila spodní holé stonky, rozhodně se ji během léta nebojte pravidelně seřezávat. Průběžný zpětný řez totiž stimuluje neustálou tvorbu nových, tmavě zelených listů s oním nezaměnitelným čokoládově mátovým aroma. Navíc tím získáte skvělý čerstvý materiál do kuchyně nebo pevnou a voňavou zeleň pro tvorbu živých kytic. Od července do září rostlinu zdobí atraktivní růžová a fialová květenství, která spolehlivě přitahují opylovače. Jediným drobným úskalím při pěstování může být občasný výskyt mandelinky mátové. Tohoto škůdce se ale snadno zbavíte tak, že ho jednoduše ručně sesbíráte ze stonků.\n\nZákazníci se nás velice často ptají, zda je možné tuto fantastickou bylinku úspěšně pěstovat také v nádobách či truhlících. Odpověď zní stoprocentně ano. Je to dokonce naprosto ideální řešení, pokud chcete mít její růst plně pod kontrolou a přejete si ji mít neustále po ruce přímo na terase nebo balkonu. Zvolte dostatečně velký a hluboký květináč s funkčními odtokovými otvory, použijte humózní substrát a dbejte na častější zalévání, protože půda v nádobách vysychá mnohem rychleji než na záhonu. S příchodem zimy si u tohoto konkrétního kultivaru nemusíte dělat už vůbec žádné starosti se složitým zazimováním. Rostlina se pyšní extrémní mrazuvzdorností až do minus osmadvaceti stupňů Celsia, což spolehlivě odpovídá klimatické zóně 5a. Na podzim se nadzemní část přirozeně stáhne, kořeny bez problémů přezimují a na jaře jen odstraníte odumřelé stonky.
